Welded Quilt {a free tutorial}

Quilt

Art Gallery Fabrics and Fat Quarter Shop have once again teamed up to bring you a new {free} quilt tutorial: meet the Welded Quilt.

The Welded quilt is the 3rd free tutorial in a series of 4.  You might remember the Birchen quilt I made earlier this year–Birchen was a quilt from the same series.

So, glad the weather was a little bit nicer this time around! =p

For Welded, I chose a warm, sunny mix of Art Gallery Fabrics.

Fabrics 2

From top to bottom, the fabrics are from the following collections:  Cultivate by Bonnie Christine, Happy Home by Sew Caroline, the next 4 are all from Curiosities by Jeni Baker, and the bottom fabric is from Sketchbook by Sharon Holland.

Together these fabrics create that “sherbet-y” mix I am always drawn to.

 This quilt top comes together quickly and I would say it’s beginner friendly.  Even though the quilt is set on point, the construction method used is an easy one.

Fat Quarter Shop has put together a great video detailing the construction of this quilt.

   If you like the quilt fabrics used in the video, you’ll find a kit here and the backing kit here.

The free pattern can be found here.

And here’s one more look at my Welded quilt.  I had such fun making it–thanks for asking me to sew along FQS! =)

Have a wonderful weekend!  By the way, this would be a great weekend project if you are looking for some fun sewing.

    Not surprised that FQS selected you, they know a good artist when they see one. Love the quilt and your choices for fabric. Also love your Prairie line. Bought several items and love it. Great designs. Now let’s have another line soon. Congrats on the new fabrics of yours.
