Scrappy Bunny Block ~ A Free Pattern

This blog post is full of so many fun things! We have a new scrappy quilt block pattern which means a new YouTube video…plus those Joy Filled re-colorings I promised you. It’s a newsy one friends!

First up let’s dive into the new Scrappy Bunny block…isn’t it so sweet? Can’t you picture the cutest baby quilt made using this quilt block. It’s the perfect addition to the scrappy blocks I’ve shared already.

You can download the Scrappy Bunny block here.

Tiggsy had to walk past and check out this latest addition. He didn’t seem that interested but I’m sure he thought it was pretty cute.

If you wanted to make a sweet little springtime quilt, I think these three blocks mixed together would be adorable:

These are the scrappy blocks that have been released so far:

plus these:

If you’ve missed any of them and would like to download any of the patterns here they all are:

Scrappy Clover

Scrappy Heart

Scrappy Tulip

Scrappy Flag

Scrappy Tree

Scrappy Snowflake

Ryan and I filmed a video, that we released today, chatting about the Scrappy Bunny block.

You can watch the video here.

Plus, you can see a peek of a new Elonie exclusive t-shirt design. =) The tee is for sale in my shop here. Just a quick note on the tee sizing. This tee is a women’s fit tee as opposed to the unisex sizing of all of the other clothing items. Be sure to take a peek at the measurements to help you decide which size to purchase if you place an order.

As with the previous scrappy blocks, the Scrappy Bunny block creates a fun quilt when repeated into a larger quilt design:

It would also be very pretty as a quick table runner:

I also have another scrappy quilt block that I’ll be sharing very soon that is so cute with this bunny block. Make sure you are subscribed here or on the YouTube channel so you don’t miss out on seeing it!

Now, let’s move onto those Joy Filled re-colorings!

Joy Filled is the March pattern of the month. It is for sale for $7 this month (1/2 price). You can find it in my Etsy shop here in either PDF or Paper versions. I also chat about Joy Filled in our video today so if you’d like to hear a bit more about it be sure to watch!

First up, I had a request to see Joy Filled in Dawn on the Prairie by Fancy That Design House:

Next, I recolored it in Sunwashed. I saw a Sunwashed version of this quilt made by Stephanie of Stephanie’s Stitches and I thought it was so pretty!

I also wanted to make sure and mock it up in Peachy Keen:

And lastly Shoreline by Camille Roskelley:

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s post! Have a wonderful weekend! Corey

The scrappy bunny is so very cute, excited to see the block that would compliment it coming soon.
I have your Joy Filled pattern and all the fabric to make it, just lacking time. After this video I have been encouraged to make that one next. Always so many quilts to make and love ❤️.

Good morning Corey, Very cute Bunny Square. Question: can these squares be made from fat quarters?

Corey, thank you so much for sharing your time & talents with us! I love all of these scrappy blocks. The 🐰 would make a cute pillow cover or doll quilt for my granddaughters. They have 🐇 🐑 🐔 🐄 🐐 🐕 🐈 & more and love them all. I’m working on a sheep quilt already & the bunny would be a big hit as well!

What a fun bunny block. I so look forward to all the recolourings that you do. It is so nice to see what the quilt will look like and it amazes me everything the difference the fabric makes in a pattern. I think the Peachy Keen is my favourite. Thank you for sharing.

I tried to buy Joy Filled from your Etsy site, but it was already sold out. I prefer the paper pattern. Are you going be getting more paper patterns in stock, or do I need to order the PDF?

I just purchased Joy Filled. This is the perfect pattern for a Christmas sampler I’m planning to make for my daughter.
Very cute T shirt. Maybe Elonie has a future in T shirt design. 😊

Love, love, love the shirts. However, I live in Florida and don’t have many opportunities to wear long sleeve hooded sweatshirts. Maybe some sweatshirts that are zip up so they could be worn as a light weight jacket or 3/4 sleeve tees. Would very much interest me. Thanks, Cory. I met you one time at a quilt retreat at Round Lake Ohio. I have printed and used many of your free patterns. Thanks so much for sharing.

    Hi Corey,
You have fast become one of my favorite quilters!! I have many of your patterns and am loving the free scrappy ones. Can you tell me what thread you usually use when piecing a quilt?

  21. Connie H. Vaughan says:

    Hi Corey,

I love the scrappy blocks. If you keep going, I think I am going to make a quilt featuring a block for every month! I think that would be cute. Thanks for all you wonderful creations.
