Serendipity Sew Along Row 7
Welcome to row 7 of the Serendipity Sew along. After completing this row, you will have all of the rows needed for the quilt and will be ready for the finishing instructions which will release on July 1. Just in time for some fun holiday sewing if you are in the US. =)
You will find all of the patterns released so far for this quilt along at this link. The cross stich patterns can be found at that same link…they have been releasing at the same time as the quilt rows.
Do keep in mind that this is a fundraising quilt along benefitting Make a Wish Central & South Texas and a $5 donation is encouraged for the use of each pattern. I just looked yesterday and we have raised over 77,000 which is wonderful. =)
For this quilt along, I have been using Apricot & Ash fabrics for the prints and my background is from Sugarcreek. Because I have been working on both my Serendipity blocks (using Apricot & Ash) and my Sewcialites blocks (using Spring Brook) at the same time I have enjoyed seeing Apricot & Ash fabrics mixing with Spring Brook fabrics as they are laid out on my cutting table.
You may never have thought about mixing the two collections together but the two collections mix together in such a pretty way. I also snuck a couple prints from Cozy Up in with this mix. Do be sure to pick up any prints you’d like from Spring Brook or Apricot & Ash sooner rather than later. I’ve been asked to track down a couple prints from both collections within the last week and some are getting very hard to find already.
It’s always wonderful to check with your local quilt shops when you are looking for fabrics. Not all of them have online shops so you can often find hidden gems.
The blocks for this week’s Serendipity row are such fun star blocks to make. Raise your hand if you like a fun star block! I know that I do. =)
I hope you enjoy sewing up these blocks & thank you all so much for supporting such a wonderful cause during this fun sew along! Corey
I love all of your fabrics and have really enjoyed looking at all of the tiny Sewcialites Blocks that you have made, just beautiful! What tips could you give for making a block so small and be sooo accurate? I would love to try a few, but can’t imagine how challenging it would be.
