Sewcialites Block 24 and shop news
Still no buds on my little redbud tree but at least we have a flower in the picture with this weeks Sewcialites block!
I am sure that some of the beautiful sunshine and warmer days we have had this week will translate to flowering trees before we know it. In the meantime, I will sew up a little garden of quilt blocks to enjoy. =)
Our block this week for the Sewcialites block of the week is brought to us by Robin Pickens. You will find the block pattern in the usual spots on the Fat Quarter Shop Blog here or all of the blocks that have been released so far can all be downloaded here–so be sure to bookmark this link! This is the handiest spot to visit to download the blocks.
I used a few of the orange peel prints from Spring Brook to complete this block. My mom always had yellow daffodils each spring and this little block, while probably more of a tulip, reminds me of her row of daffodils. We would go out early in the morning before getting on the bus (we had about an hour long bus ride) and pick daffodils to take to our teachers each spring.
We also had the best smelling lilacs each spring and I keep thinking I’d like to have some here at my house. I wish the bushes were as pretty the rest of the year as they will be soon. =)
I also wanted to give you a shop update. I have opened a second Etsy shop, Coriander Mugs, which will feature just my mugs. Because the mugs ship separately from the patterns this makes the most sense. This week I added the Sherbet Stripes Quilt block mug as well as two new Apricot & Ash selvage mugs. You will find the mugs and the new shop here.
And also, thank you so much for all of your kind words about the Spring Brook Blossoms block of the month!–I am excited to have so many of you sewing along. It will be fun! If you missed that announcement, you can find info here.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!
I’m always amazed by those *tiny* blocks. I struggle with 3” units in a 12” block. Yours are so charming. I also love how you choose and use your fabrics in the blocks. I struggle with fabric/color selection so often rely on kits.
Also, what a sweet story about taking daffodils to your teachers. I bet they loved that.
