Sugarcreek Quilt Patterns Part 3
Good Morning and Happy Monday Friends. Today is part 3 and the last post about my new Sugarcreek quilt patterns.
It is also Spring Quilt Market week which is one of the most fun weeks of the year. And also one of the busiest as I am gearing up to head to Kansas City on Wednesday. All of the quilts need to be packed, family schedules need arranged, and all of the last minute things need taken care of.
I just love it all–it is such a fun industry to be involved in. =)
So let’s talk quilts–these last few quilts I am sharing today are the quilt patterns I designed that use both the prints and the wovens from the Sugarcreek collection. First up is Happy Scrappy Baskets–this isn’t a new pattern but I am releasing it as a Paper pattern in addition to the PDF that I released last fall.
With the release of the Paper pattern, I updated the fabric requirements to make it easier to use your scraps or layer cakes depending on your preference. I used a layer cake of the Sugarcreek Prints and a layer cake of the Sugarcreek wovens for my quilt.
I used a pretty little floral print from Sugarcreek for the basket bases and the quilt was quilted by David.
You’ll remember that this basket block was one of the alternate blocks that I designed during Round 2 of Blockheads:
And here’s the first Happy Scrappy Baskets quilt that I made last fall using Chantilly by Fig Tree Quilts, Lollipop Garden by Lella Boutique and Strawberry Jam by myself:
I still need to send this one off to be quilted! I have those quilt tops just waiting to be quilted just like many of you do!
Happy Scrappy Baskets finishes at 68″ x 85″.
Next up is Beholden 2:
Beholden 2 is the smaller block version of Beholden which I released last fall (here’s a peek at Beholden with the larger blocks in Strawberry Jam fabric):
I am so tickled with the way both of these quilts turned out. The blocks are all pieced with no templates or hand piecing. Just straightforward piecing techniques. It looks so much more complicated than it actually is.
Beholden 2 finishes at 72″ x 79″ and is layer cake friendly. I used one of the Sugarcreek wovens and one of the Sugarcreek prints. The texture you get from adding the wovens into the quilt is so pretty! David also quilted this one for me using an orange peel design which I think perfectly compliments the design.
This is one of my favorite quilts from this release of patterns–it turned out so well. It was also the most time consuming to piece because there are so many blocks. But it was so worth it!
The last quilt that I made combining the wovens and prints is Sprinkling:
Sprinkling uses just 2 charm packs plus background yardage. And take a look at that quilting!–David outdid himself on this one. With so much white space on this quilt, it was the perfect opportunity to show off some pretty quilting.
Sprinkling finishes at 68″ x 85″.
All of my new patterns are in my shop in both PDF or Paper versions. Shipping is Free on orders of 2+ paper patterns with the code FREESHIP. And don’t forget about the $5 pattern of the month Make It Modern:
I will not be shipping Paper patterns while I am gone (you can still purchase today, Monday, and I’ll ship before I leave) but will resume shipping Paper patterns next week when I get back.
If you’ll be at Quilt Market, stop by and say hi! =)
I’ll be at Quilt Market, so I’ll be sure to stop by and see your quilts in person. Very clever patterns!
Oh wonderful!–please do!
