Sunday Best Quilts Sampler Block 10
Welcome back to week 10 of the Sunday Best Quilts Sampler sew along!
I hope that you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving. =) Usually today, is the day that we go and get our Christmas tree but hubby had a race this morning so no early morning tree cutting for us! It’ll be early morning sewing instead. =)
Today, our sampler block is from my Dayflower quilt in Sunday Best Quilts. Dayflower is the quilt I designed for the Pineapple category in the book.
Dayflower uses 2 jelly rolls and I was so excited to use two of Vanessa’s lines of fabric for my quilt, Sugar Pie and Nest. The background is Moda’s cross weave in Black.
When I was designing this quilt, I wanted to design a quilt block that looked like a Pineapple block but that wouldn’t require any paper piecing or specialty rulers. I love the way this quilt came together.
For the quilt in Sunday Best Quilts, I opted for a very scrappy fabric placement. For my sampler block, I kept it scrappy but used the same colors for each “round” and I love them both.
These are the fabrics I used in my sampler block (all from Sugarcreek):

And here are the posts from this past week:
Last Saturday, I shared a gift giving guide for quilters. There are so many fun gift ideas listed!
On Monday, I shared the Sew Colorful giveaway winner along with a fun little addition to our family. =)
Wednesday brought us another “Wondering Wednesday” post full of Q & A.
See you next week! Corey
Thank You for another beautiful/fun block. I just wanted to share a special treat I am experiencing with friends and quilting. have a friend from the past and we just renewed our friendship at a class reunion. We started hand quilting in the 80’s and both gave it up. Well, she is anxious to try this “new quilting” and she is getting the Sunday Best book for Christmas with a Sugar Creek layer cake. She will love it and your beautiful fabrics. Merry Christmas!
