Waiting in the Wings?

It has been such a fun and busy month over here at Coriander Quilts. =)

We are just weeks away from being able to share new fabrics and quilt patterns.  I can’t believe it’s almost time.  I turned this collection in last spring and it’s always so fun after almost a year of waiting to be able to start sharing pretty fabrics.  You’ll have to wait just a little bit longer but I can share soon!

Sunwashed fabrics, available in quilt shops now

With the release of a new fabric collection, there is always the hustle and bustle of writing new patterns, illustrating the patterns, making pretty new quilts and basically, a flurry of activity!

At the same time Sunwashed has arrived to quilt shops which is so much fun.  I always look forward to seeing what pretty projects are being dreamed of and getting made.

I’ve also been enjoying, all of the sew alongs we can join in on…there are so many fun ones starting (or mid-point) right now.  I’ve been really enjoying the Sewcialites Sew Along…this week is my week to share a block so be sure to stop back on Friday and take a peek at the pattern.  I’m slowly plugging away on my Scrappy Irish Chain blocks, I just finished the first blocks from the Bountiful quilt along (the first pattern releases on February 28), and of course we have the Sunny Patches mystery BOM kicking off very soon as well.

All of these things are why I so enjoy working in the quilting industry.  There are always so many fun things to do!  I can work on anything from fabric design, to quilt math, to sewing quilts, and then throw in a load of laundry or wash some windows in the midst of it all.

I had a lot of fun filming the video I released today, chatting about some of the other projects that I’d like to work on.  In addition to the projects I’m currently having fun with, there are always some I have tucked away for the perfect sewing day. =)  I can’t help but laugh when I think back to the time I told my mom that I would always finish one project before I purchased fabrics to start on another.  That is such a great idea but harder to accomplish! =)

If you want to hear about some of the projects I’d love to get a chance to work on, you can watch the video here.  I bet many of you have some of those “waiting in the wings” projects and I’d love to hear about them.  Leave a comment over on the video to share!

I’ll be back Friday with my Sewcialites block…see you then!  And have a wonderful Wednesday! Corey

Good Morning. This is not quilt related but I am hoping the train derailment isn’t too close to you. Thinking of everyone in Ohio.

Can’t wait to see your new designs!

I really enjoy your blog and your videos. I am trying to finish up many wips before I allow myself to purchase anything new. It is difficult because I just love the Sunwashed line!

I am new to your site and videos. I really like them! Thank you for all you do for the quilting community.

Other people don’t understand why you have more than one project on the go. Unless you are a quilter. Lol. My sister got married 23 years ago and I have her quilt about 1/3 done. It was double wedding ring. Started with good intentions 24 years ago, but got overwhelmed quickly. I am determined to have it finished for their 25 th. Pretty sad I’d say. Glad I am not alone. I am working on 3 BOM’s and hoping to do yours in March. Plus commission quilts. Not enough hours in a day. Lol or energy.

I’m in the same boat……the Double Wedding Ring was too intimidating at that time. I think I’m ready for it now tho……lol. Going to try anyway! Janice

Hi Cory. In the one picture you were holding fabric with a little rocking chair that I think is a pin cushion. Where did you get it from? I have bine looking for one for ages.

Can so relate to projects in limbo. Decided a few weeks ago I couldn’t start another thing until I finished a quilt (my first! ) I started 20 yrs. ago. Took me three days – I couldn’t figure why it sat so long. Now am looking for backing. Can’t figure how to send a picture, but I Love it!!!

Looking forward to see how you blend the 2 layer cakes for a Homey re-mix. I’ve got my fabrics and book, and am ready to see yours for the inspiration.

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
