That is the topic of today’s YouTube video.

I am downloading your block of the month. I’ve never done this before and am afraid to start making my quilt but here it is, May already! Can you tell me how many fat quarters I should purchase to begin so that my finished quilt will be coordinated? Thanks.

Hi! I look forward to Saturday morning to watch your videos. Tiggs is always an added bonus. I love seeing your quilts in the background. It would be nice to see quilts in your current lines too for inspiration.

Hi Corey. Loved your sharing what tools you use to make your quilts. I loved the quilt back that Matt shared, however the row would have been perfect for a label to celebrate the recipient’s graduation. I try to use up my extra fabric or blocks by making a row or rows on the back and adding a label to that row to celebrate a special event. If it is for a new baby, on the back I put the name of the quilt pattern or the one I called it as each one is made to coordinate with the baby’s room, the baby’s name, date of birth, time of birth, weight, height, and the date and my name as the maker. For my quilts of valor that I made for family and friends I put their rank when they were enlisted name branch of service and the dates they served, and “Welcome Home” as many of the vets I have made this for are Vietnam Vets. I photograph all my quilts including the backs and it is fun to look back years later and remember who I made them for. Just thought I’d share how I make my quilts.

    Hi, Corey.
I hope you write the provenance of the quilt on the back before you donate it. I think it is cool when life tells a good story. Good stories should be shared. 🙂

On the 11 things you need in you quilt items is a marker that comes when you apply heat, otherwise, I have most of the items.

Hi Corey…fun show today with Tiggs in the mix! The wonder clips are the only thing I don’t use each time, instead I punched small holes in the corner of my alpha bit and put tiny safety pins so I can pin them and don’t worry about losing them. I love the rescued quilt and the fact you are donating it, bless you for that 🩷
