Another Fabric Stack–Red & Aqua
June is my month for the Red & Aqua Bee. And this is the stack of fabric that I’m gonna be using for this bee–I added a bit of pink. Oh, how I wish my month came after September–I would love to add in some of Camille & Bonnie’s new line Bliss. That line has me doing some serious drooling! =)
I had originally planned on asking for star blocks and sending everyone 3 different fabrics to use, with the end result being a scrappy star quilt. But, recently I came across the Liberated Wedding Ring block–Here’s an example from flickr by Sewgirly!. I love all of the skinny little strips and odd angles.
This block is apparently from the book Freddy & Gwen Collaborate Again–which my library apparently has, however, you try to find that this book on the shelf. I spent a good 10-15 minutes trying to locate the crazy thing & there are only 2 small shelves of quilting books in the library. I had no luck–so, I came home and requested the book for pick-up. That was last week–they still don’t have it ready for me to pick-up yet–see, they couldn’t find the crazy thing either. Anyway, I digress.
I just finished up some lovely little hexagons today for the Hexagon Swap over on flickr. So, I should have a fun little hexie post for ya soon! =)
Where are you swapping these hexagons? I am working on the hexagon quilt along but I had no idea about a swap. Man would I love to get my hands on some of those you made (saw them on flickr) to die for I'm telling you.
I love your red and aqua choices! The pink really looks nice! Can't wait to see the blocks you get back!
The wedding ring is also in the Liberated String Quilts book. I bought the book just for the instructions on that block, I love it too. š
That's a delicious stack of fabrics! Bliss is just that – what a fantastic collection. I like the block you have chosen too. Ann š
Thanks everyone! And thanks for that tip Bessie–I just requested it–hopefully they have better luck finding that one LOL!! =)
That aqua/red quilt is going to be gorgeous using that block.
That is a gorgeous stack of fabrics! And just think, the timing means you can do something totally different with Bliss–which is so squee-worthy, I can hardly stand it!
Oh Meg–we both know I am going to be snatching some of that goodness up! =)
Hi there, I just found your blog today (it's great!!) and I LOVE the fabrics in your stack of blue and aqua – can you give us some more info about what fabrics are in the stack?? thanks you so much!
