Beautiful Day Mystery Quilt Along Block 4: Grace

It’s the third Saturday of the month which means it’s time for Block 4 of the Beautiful Day Mystery block of the month.  The dates for the upcoming blocks are listed at the bottom of this post.

Grace is the 4th block in this sew along.  If you’ve missed any of the previous posts in this quilt along, you can find them here:

I’ve also filmed a Grace video tutorial on my YouTube channel.

And here are my blocks.

I really liked how this block pattern creates a circular sort of movement around the block center.  It created the perfect spot to use the more “rounded” centers, if that makes sense!

I shared a little tip in my video for how I line up those flying geese so everything matches up nicely.

This block would be a great one to use for a whole quilt.  Choose some pretty, larger scale prints for the center of each block…wouldn’t that be pretty!  Or even featuring just this block combined with the panel centers would be wonderful!

After today, we have one more block next month and then the finishing instructions the month after.

Block 5: June 18, 2022

Finishing Instructions: July 16, 2022

Thank you so much for sewing along!  Have a wonderful day! Corey

I love this quilt! I am using leftovers from the heartfelt kit, a layer cake, a roll of 2 1/2 strips, a charm pack and various solids that match. I haven’t started it yet but will be doing so very soon.

I love this line of fabrics!

I’m also going to quilt it on my domestic machine in sections. So much fun to look forward to!

    Thank you!

I love this block! I designed a quilt for my best friend’s 60th birthday last month using this block and Gingiber’s Words to Live By panel for the centers. I couldn’t find a pattern for the block — I don’t know any names that it goes by to look it up — so I had to figure out the math on my own. I spent much more time searching for the block than I did working out the calculations — lol.

  3. My favorite fabric.

I’m excited to stitch up this month’s blocks. I’m right on track and am stitching all 4 blocks each month. No clue what I’ll do with this large quilt when I’m finished, but I just love this fabric line so much that I had to make this quilt!! I might have to convince my husband that we need to repaint our bedroom to match this quilt so we can put it on our bed! LOL!! Thank you so much for wonderfully written and clear instructions and your videos are SO helpful too!
