so very excited! Need to go in my DMC stash and see what I have, otherwise I will have to make a trip to get some new thread! Can not wait to start, thanks again so much for sharing your talent with us. Jodie
I can hardly wait! Your little birdies are just too cute!
What will the dimensions of the finished quilt be, please?
Sorry, another question. What color did you use for your background? I was looking at the pics on flicker, and one appears to be white and the other a silver gray, but wasn't sure if that was correct, or if my monitor is not displaying the colors correctly.
Hey there! I'm trying to decide what fabric/if I should join in. So tempting! Can you say a few words about what the quilt will look like? Is this a baby quilt? Will the embroidery blocks be simple (like just the bird shown) or more elaborate/time consuming? Thanks!
I am so looking forward to this BOM. I ordered a jelly roll today – Dream On by moda. Not sure what solid I'm going with yet. I was thinking about using a white on white or will that look funny, do you think?
I can't wait. It will be so much fun!!
I'm so excited!
Count me in, These pics are too cute to refuse!!!
really don't be needing to start something new but I love this quilt and stitching! I may have to join in!
Thanks for the opportunity! Just venturing into
quilting, but stitching for a while. This quilt is so cheery & beautiful!
I don’t even think I have to buy anything for this!! I’m ready!
I’m in! Ordered my layer cake yesterday and am so excited about this project. the stitchery and colors just seem so me…based on the little sneak peak we got anyway – LOL! 😉
well, I couldn’t decide so I just ordered two charm packs of Fresh Flowers by Moda and two of Central Park by Kate Spain. I will have to decide when they get here which I will use… I liked them both online…
Then to get some matching thread…
This is gonna be FUN!
I love the pattern….can’t wait to start!
Just the thing to work on during the dark, cold winter nights!! Thanks so much for the patterns!!
This quilt looks like so much fun. I like that it has some embroidery & some quilting.
I can’t wait to get started on this! I have a moda jelly roll that will be perfect for it.
I just discovered this BOM. Wow! I can not wait to get started. I have a really cute jelly roll with turquoise and a limey green print fabrics. These will be perfect for this project.
I am so excited about following along and stitching up your cute blocks!! Thanks for the lovely design!!
I can’t wait to see these evolve!
I’m gonna give it a try with 1930 repros and white background. I love to hand embroider. Thanks for the cute design
I’d love to join with you on the BOM! Looks like fun.
I just received my sunkissed layer cake and gray solid in the mail today….I can’t wait to start! This will be a wonderful monthly project that I can take places and easily work on it! Hooray! thank you so much!
What did you choose for your binding and backing fabrics…I am doing Moda Sunkissed too and would love to know your choices…thanks!
I would like to know where you got the fabric for the background.@yards of solid for block centres ect.Do you have the fabrics.
Thank You Irene P.S. I love that work embroidery.
OMGosh I love love love this quilt!!
However I have never done embroidery before and don’t know where to buy DMC floss. 🙁
If you or anybody could point me in the right direction that would be wonderful!
I am also doing the Moda sunkissed and wondered what you’re choosing for your backing and binding fabrics… Thank you!
Love love LOVE this! I just stumbled upon this today and going to participate too….I think it will be easy enough to catch up on the embroidery 🙂
Hi, I know your blog recently, and I fell in love with this work, it would be possible to do with you thanks!

OMG! I love this. I have a ‘thing’ for cute little birds! Do you have any beginner tutorials or suggestions for someone new to the world of embroidery? I think I can, I think I can! I have PLENTY of fabric, so no worries there! Just need tips on how to go about stitching up these cute little birds!!
Thanks so much!
Bonsoir,
ce quilt est magnifique je vais commencer dès demain à le faire.
Grand merci

I love the birdie blocks and have been following along looking at the pictures each month……I found myself looking for the next block online on April first! I am hooked and also love sunkissed. So for me it is a match made in heaven! I am a late starter but wanted to pop over and say thanks for such a cute and colorful BOM!!!
I just found your website and love it. I can’t wait to try your Birdie Stitches BOM.
Coming into this late but had a question: You said you have a lot left over from a jelly roll. I have one of those half jelly rolls where there’s only 20 strips versus 40. Do you think that’s enough or should I pick up another one in those fabrics?
Thanks you so much for this lovely set of Bird’s – I am sticking to a red and variety of blues with a hint of yellow and hope to have a lovely cot quilt for a new baby when completed.

It’s June and I am just getting started……Never say “never”….LOL! I am using Bella gray for background and a jelly roll from Moda call “Strawberry Fields”. I also have a HUGE stash of #8 Perle cotton so plan to use that instead of embroidery thread. It should be OK???? This will be my “travel project”, I always need something that I can take with me that doesn’t involve a machine.
I found your dresden and loved it… I love the colors the spirit of joy that is behind it. Your sight is such a joy to me. I am in love with your birdy blocks.. Thank you very much for providing things like this for girls who love to sew.

I am having trouble finding Moda’s Sunkissed line, unfortunately. I have found some other lines that I like, but am not sure how they’ll look with the floss. Or should I just wing it (LOL) and go for floss that coordinates with whatever jelly roll I end up getting? One local shop had Amelia and Hometown … ??
If you want some great inspiration take a look through the flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/birdiestitches/. Such a wonderful variety of fabrics being used and they all look fabulous! I think Hometown would be pretty cool since it still has all of the typography fabrics–kind of the same vibe as Sunkissed. =)
Thanks Corey! I actually did a little bit more looking around and found another line I just loved!! It’s the Fresh Flowers Jelly Roll by Deb Strain, also for Moda. I love the vibrant colors on this line! I thought I wanted something more subdued, more pastel, but when I saw this one I just had to spring for it. I ordered online but they say only 2-3 business days for shipping, so I’m hoping it will get here mid-week and I can get started before I go on vacation next weekend! I think this would be a terrific project to take with me to work on when I need a break from the family games or the jigsaw puzzle we usually have going.
oh my goodness!!! I don’t know HOW I found these cute little stitches but I’m so glad I did!! I can’t wait to get started on this! Thank you SO much for the cute patterns!!
