Blockheads Block #47
Good Morning Friends and Happy Wednesday Blockheads day.
Today is Jan Patek’s block and she has designed a wonderful appliqued basket/bird block. To see her block and receive the free pattern, you will want to visit her site.
Because I have opted not to include applique in my Blockheads Round 2 quilt, I have designed an alternate block.
This is my Rainbow Vine block. If you preferred to use a more simple color palette, it would be adorable with all of the leaves in the same color. I love adding bits of rainbow here and there so I opted for the rainbow version. =)
The Rainbow Vine block is a pieced version of my Rainbow Petals applique quilt from my book. I do enjoy a rainbow! =)
If you’d like to make a Rainbow Vine block for your quilt, you will find the pattern here.
And, here is the coloring page for the Rainbow Vine Block.
Happy Sewing !–Only 5 blocks left. =)
Thank you so much for Alternate block 47! It is adorable! Also, thank you for the coloring page. I love your rainbow block version. I, and I am sure the other Moda Blockheads, appreciate the time you and the other designers spend on this project with us. It has been such a great learning experience. I learned a lot in BH1, but the learning has expanded in BH2. In BH1, I was a very new quilter and most of the things I gleaned had to do with technique. That has continued in BH2, but I have also learned so much about fabric color choices, placement, contrast, and scale. Thank you, again!
Thank you from one who is applique challenged!
I love your alternative- when I saw it I immediately thought of Rainbow Petals!
Thank you for this alternate block! Love how versatile it is and that it is traditionally pieced :)! Your block is beautiful with all the rainbow colours in there!
Corey I love yoyr climbing vine block! Thank you so much!
It’s been a while since we chatted, I need to get an email from you, so I can send ya a note…
