Moda Block Heads Block 10

Windmills Quilt Block

Welcome to week 10 of the Moda Block Heads Sew Along.

Today, our block is brought to us by Stacy Iest Hsu.  You will find the pattern for this weeks block, Windmills, on her blog today.  And loaded into the files section of the Moda Block Heads facebook group on Friday.  Additionally, you will find all of the blocks for this round of Block Heads here.

Windmills Quilt Block

After my Q&A post last week, I had green and yellow on my mind so I decided to use a green/yellow springtime palette for my Windmills block.

Fabric Choices

The fabrics that I used are mostly from Canning Day (the top three fabrics in the above photo).  The bottom yellow print with the pink flowers is from Sugarcreek which is in quilt shops right now as well.

I really like springtime colors this time of year and these fabrics bring some much needed color into my home.  Pretty soon Ohio will be bursting with color as the grass turns green, the trees get leaves, and all of the pretty flowers start popping up.  But right now, we see a lot of gray sprinkled with a little bit of gray. =)

Tulip Market Quilt in Canning Day

I had a couple requests to see my $5 pattern of the month, Tulip Market, mocked up using Canning Day & Sugarcreek fabrics.  The above picture shows what the quilt could look like using Canning Day.  And the picture below shows what could look like in Sugarcreek.

The Tulip Market quilt requires one jelly roll, a bit of green yardage, and background yardage.  Both the large Tulip Market quilt as well as the mini version are $5 in my Etsy shop in either Paper or PDF versions through the end of March.

Be sure to stop by the other Moda Block Heads designers to see what they are up to today. =)  Have a wonderful Wednesday. Corey

Not really crazy about Block # 10. Will there be some substitute blocks? Love your colors for the block though. Can’t wait for Canning Days to release.

Thank you!—Canning Day is in quilt shops right now. If your local shop happens to be open, now more than ever, they need our support! I don’t believe there are any alternate blocks for this week but you can always substitute blocks.

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
