Checks Mix Quilts Book

Today, I am excited to share with you about my brand new book, Checks Mix Quilts, which releases in less than two weeks. =)

Checks Mix Quilts features a variety of quilts with a “check” or “gingham” sort of theme.

The quilts span the seasons so you are sure to find just the quilt for any time of the year.

The original Rain Check quilt which is featured on the cover uses a variety of my fabrics from various lines.  But, you will easily be able to recreate this quilt using my upcoming Spring Brook line of fabric which comes out in January:

The quilts in the book use strip piecing techniques for the “gingham” portions which makes piecing them much less fussy.

Depending on the quilt you choose to make, the piecing ranges from confident beginner to intermediate.

It was so much fun designing and choosing the fabrics for each of these quilts…two of my favorite things to do!

The seasonally themed quilts will allow you to change out your quilts for the season while a quilt like the one above, Checkpoint, is going to work year round.

Checks Mix Quilt is published by Martingale Publishing and has the prettiest photography and illustrations throughout the book.

Checking It Twice, pictured above, is one that I’d like to remake in another palette–it is such a fun design and will be just beautiful in so many different fabrics.

Coat Check, quilted by Kaylene Parry, fabrics by Sweetwater

Coat Check is the last quilt in the book and a perfect wintery, snowman quilt for those cold winter months.
