Friendship Star Pillow Feature & Giveaway
I’m excited today to be sharing my last finish of 2013. I put the last few binding stitches in just before New Year’s Day and today my quilting tutorial and pillow pattern are being featured over on Sew Mama Sew.
If you follow me on either facebook or instagram you’ve seen a few sneak peeks of this project in the works.
I had purchased a beautiful bundle of Liberty fabrics from Westwood Acres Fabric in November.
I couldn’t resist those beautiful Libertys! I added a couple Japanese and Liberty fabrics from my stash mixed in with the Liberty fabrics from Westwood Acres for my pillow top.
Giveaway News!
If you are a Liberty fabrics love like myself you are in luck! Amanda, of Westwood Acres Fabric, is offering up for grabs a fat sixteenth bundle from the first installment of their new Liberty Lawn bundle of the month club. I have to admit to be completely jealous of you guys–I want it for myself! =p
To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment below telling me what you would make with your little bundle of Liberty goodness. =) I’ll draw a winner next week.
~Comments are now closed.~
And if you haven’t shopped at Westwood Acres fabric, I encourage you to check it out! Aside from Amanda’s spot on picks for amazing fabrics, the photography is perfect. I so appreciate beautiful photography that really shows off the fabrics when I am fabric shopping. Sucks me in every time!
Right now, I’ve got my eye on Botanique fabrics and the Gelati quilt pattern:
And if you want to make a pillow of your own, be sure to hop on over to Sew Mama Sew for the free pattern and hand quilting tutorial!
I just took off the Christmas covers on my living room throw pillows, so my next project will be to make new covers. (Somehow, I lost the ones that were on it before Christmas.) These fabrics would be lovely for those pillows! I might just copy the pillow you made!
They are so pretty and soft looking I think I would have to try a clamshell quit and it would show off all the pretty pieces.
The bundle would be perfect for a pillow, or a table runner.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I would make a couple of pillows of course, I love yours. thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your beautiful pillow tutorial. I would stitch up some of these lovely pillows for my home. 🙂
Spring inspired pillows are the way to go with these bright and beautiful fabrics!!
I’ve never seen Liberty of London prints in person, but the picture is gorgeous! I thinks they would play very nicely in a tote or snuggle quilt. Would have to see then to know for sure!
I really want to try this Liberty fabric!

I was happy to see you on SMS this morning and enjoyed your post – if I won, I’d totally recreate your pillow and give big stitch quilting a try. It’s been on my list to try!
Liberty of London is new to me, but the prints are beautiful! The cheery fabrics are certainly inspiring me to take on a new project. A cute quilt, or bag for my granddaughter is at the top of the list.
I would add this to the rest of my liberty stash and finally make that lap size 2″ patchwork square quilt I have been planning for a long while:-)
FINGERS CROSSED so tight!!

juceyj03@gmail.com
I think I’d make a simple patchwork so the fabrics would be featured ; )

I have a “quilt in a day- a star for all seasons” table runner favorite that I’d make! thanks for the giveaway and pics of the pretty fabric.
I’d love to make a quilt for my daughter from Liberty fabrics!
Ooo.. So many possibilities, I would make lots of little things; a pincushion for my mum, a needle book for me, a coin purse for a friend, maybe embellishments on a cushion cover and I’d use the scraps to decorate soft animal sculptures. Ha ha, all planned out! Love Liberty fabric. Thanks for the giveaway!
I would make the pillow. I love the hand quilting!
First time at your site! Love Liberty of London-so soft. Would make a perfect baby quilt for my new great niece…
Congrats on your feature with Sew Mama Sew! I’d love to win this bundle. I think I would make a quilt and it would be fun to try the big stitch hand quilting. I tried it years ago and couldn’t master the 10-12 stitches per inch, but maybe the big stitches are more my style.

Those lovely colours deserve to be made into a spring cushion cover. It’s only January but I’m already dreaming of Spring!!
Oh my god! I am dieing for those Liberty fabrics! I know this is grneric, but I would make something quilted… I’m not sure what size project I could manage with fat 8ths but it would have to be quilted and I would be quite stingy with using them and mixing other fabrics into them… I’m literally dieing for some Liberty fabrics… I NEED to touch them and hold them and let the fabric speak for themselves! What a great giveaway! Thank you!

I think a lap quilt would be in order with this wonderful bundle. Thanks
This is just beautiful! I have a question…did you have a hard time removing the water soluble marker? I have never used one and am a little intimidated by it.
If I won the fabric, I think I would like to make a small bookshelf quilt wallhanging. Thanks for the opportunity!!
I use my water soluble marker a lot and I have never had any trouble and I’ve probably purchased and used more than 20 of them. I use the Dritz blue mark-b-gone brand. I have even ironed over the blue marks and they still come out just as easily with a spritz of water. I have heard people have trouble with the marks coming out if they used any starch prior to marking so I would steer clear of that!
I love your pillow! My daughter just asked for a a patchwork dog so if I won I might make her one–but reality is I probably make a bunch of pillows like yours. I love it! Thanks so much.
I would use the Liberty fabrics for some English paper piecing, probably hexagons. I have not done this before, but I think those sweet florals would be perfect! Love your pillow!
I think I would make a simple patchwork wall hanging so I would be able to look at all the beautiful fabrics without too much cutting up. Those beautiful fabrics don’t need much to make them shine -they do it all by themselves! Thank you for the opportunity!!
