Moda Block Heads Block 14
Welcome to week 14 of Moda Block Heads Round 3.
Today’s block, Summer Breeze, is brought to us by Joanna of Fig Tree Quilts. You will find the block pattern on her blog here. I also want to quickly mention the Moda Block Heads round 3 Archive. If you didn’t bookmark it the last time I mentioned it, make sure that you do! It’s a wonderful way to keep track of all of this round of blocks in one spot.
For my block, I used Canning Day (gray with pink flowers) and Apricot & Ash fabrics. When looking at my blocks from this round altogether, I was a little bit light in the gray department. I try to keep the colors balanced as I make the blocks each week.
To make Summer Breeze, I opted to use triangle paper–specifically Lisa Bongean’s triangle paper. For the 6″ block, I used the 3/4″ size. I have a multi pack of her paper on hand so I can use it when I’d like to. And, I switch up my methods for making HST’s depending on the block and fabrics I’ll be using. If I am making scrappy HST’s I don’t use the paper as often. However, when my HST’s are all from the same fabrics I love using it. It cuts down on so many steps and I find it to be such a time saver.
Next week, will be my turn to share my next block. When I shared my first block, my site was quite slow with all of the traffic. So if, when you stop back next week, the site is slow or you get any error messages try back later in the day! Until then, stay healthy and safe! Corey

Here is the blog post that includes that information: https://corianderquilts.com/qa-friday-moda-block-heads-lay-out-information/
Thanks so much for this! I somehow missed this post!!
Thanks Corey for the suggestion about next week. You have turned me into a gray fan. I especially love your grays. This will also be a triangle paper block for me. That rosy purple is such a “popper”. Stay Safe
Yay–so happy to have another converted gray fan—I know that I love them! Don’t you love that purple. =) You star safe too!
Can not find where to print this block out. Block 14 it gets harder each time. Why?

I enjoy your weekly Moda Blockheads posts and your hints for each one. I am having trouble this week locating the pattern. I cannot find a link on Joanna’s blog. Thank you for any assistance you can give.

I like the block, but grey doesn’t say “summer breeze”. Need some yellow, blue, pink and other pastels.
Ha!–in Ohio, gray can work for all seasons. =) Wouldn’t that be a fun challenge though to only use colors we associate with the quilt block names…bear paw, log cabin, pineapple, shoofly..that would be an interesting challenge!
I have spent over 25 minutes on her blog clicking everything in sight. All I want is the pattern not all the extra stuff she is writing about. Can you forward the pattern to me please
