You all may be familiar with the Ringo Pie Bee . it’s a pretty rocking paper piecing bee that I was lucky enough to be invited to join in on the first year(it’s in the 2nd year right now).  I quickly realized that paper piecing was not my forte & opted not to continue on in this bee.  I got to know  Ayumi during my time in Ringo Pie & let me tell you, if you haven’t seen her paper piecing prowess…she is definitely a paper piecing rockstar.

She made me that adorable birdie block up there for my month in the Ringo Pie Bee–isn’t it amazing!

Anyhoo, I just found out that Ayumi, in conjunction with Superbuzzy, is offering a block of the month featuring her amazing paper piecing patterns.

Block #1(made by Ayumi):

This popsicle block is based off of a block Ayumi made during the first round of Ringo Pie…love it!

 Aren’t they fabulous!!?  I really may just need to bite the bullet on this one–these blocks are so cute.  You can find the patterns available at Superbuzzy, here.

After posting my paper pieced bee blocks, I had some questions about paper piecing…here are some great paper piecing tutorials:

Paper piecing opens up a whole new world of possibilities for quilt blocks–it’s definitely worth taking a look at & perhaps giving it a go!
