Moda Blockheads Round 5 (Group 2): Block 5
Glimmer by Janet Clare is today’s Moda Blockheads block.
Have you been enjoying all of the different star blocks? I think it’s fun to see what new star block is headed our way each week.
You can download the Glimmer block here.
I made the 12″ block again this week using Peachy Keen and Blueberry Delight fabrics. One change I made to the pattern was to use square in a square paper for the center. This is the size you’ll need for the 12″ block. If you are making the 6″ size, you’ll need this size. While I have never used these square in a square papers to piece a whole quilt, I do find it handy to pull just one sheet off for a portion of a block like what we have here.
My daughter Chloe took these photos for me (I don’t think I mentioned that she’s started working for me as well! On the days when she and my sister are both working it gets pretty entertaining!). Chloe had a little friend visiting as she took the photos and she managed this cute little photo:
Oh Tiggsy and your perfectly placed tail…what a silly boy! =)
One final reminder of the January $5 pattern of the month, Make it Modern. Today is the last day to grab it at this price.

Make It Modern Quilt
While the paper patterns have sold out, you can still purchase the PDF version for $5 (through today only) here.
Have fun piecing your Glimmer block and thanks for stopping by! Corey
Every quilt block is cuter if Tiggs is involved.
Right!?! =)
Thank you for the pattern. Are the number of C and G blocks to cut correct? Pattern shows G blocks on bottom for flying geese but other 3 sides shows C. Love the cat!
Yes, the cutting instructions are correct. Those bottom flying geese are also C (not G). You do need 4 C squares as listed in the cutting.
Thanks. I was looking at the drawn block where it shows G. I appreciate your time!
Beautiful and love the quilting.
It’s by Angela Walters. =)
is there a $5 pattern for February yet?
Yes, it’s Scrap Basket Stars….I just shared about it in today’s (Saturday, February 3) blog post and video.
