It’s a Quilt Unboxing!

Right before Christmas, I sent off a number of quilt tops to David to quilt for me. I’ve gotten them back and in today’s video we are unboxing them together.

If you’ve been wondering how I quilted my Sunny Patches quilt tops…..

I’m sharing both the finished Beautiful Day version above as well as the finished Sunwashed version. They both turned out so pretty!

I’m also sharing my finished Oh, Happy Day sampler quilt!:

The quilting on this one also turned out so pretty!

Go take a peek if you’d like to see some of these finishes plus more. Have a wonderful Saturday! Corey

Such beautiful quilts and quilting patterns!

All of them are so very pretty! But I’m a little confused … does David bind your quilts, too?!

    • Corey says:

He has a person that does binding for him. So, when I send my quilts to him I can choose to have him do just the long arm quilting or to have the quilting and the binding done. It’s an option on the form you fill out when sending a quilt to him to have quilted.

My longarm quilter just called yesterday to let me know she has finished my Sunny Patches and Bespoke quilts and I will have them next Monday or Tuesday to bind and love. I am going to be making the Molehills quilt designed by Latifah Safir soon and I think the crosshatch clamshells would look so interesting on that one. Loved this unboxing video. Always a fan of both your fabrics and patterns. Thank you for sharing.

    Hey Corey,
I love your fabrics. And with collection names like Sugarcreek it reminds me of those places in Ohio! Love it—and I have to buy them!! I’m making your pattern Heartwarming from American Patchwork and Quilting August 2022 for my granddaughter. She requested koalas and your hearts ❤️ in this quilt made the perfect pattern! I’ll post when it’s done!! Love your work!! Kathy in Dublin

    Hi Corey,
I love your video trunk show❣️. I also especially loved that cross hatch rainbow quilting pattern on your beautiful day quilt,(I don’t think that was the exact name, but I know that it was called cross hatch, something!!). Also, was that your “Beholden “ quilt hanging up next to it? I remember at the quilter’s gathering in Berlin, Ohio, your hometown, I took that class from you! I had just started quilting that year and you helped me so much!!!
The next year, my friend Jane , and I signed up for another class from you, and we attended, (remember, I live in St Louis),
But you were sick that year, and we were so disappointed!!😩. Are you going to be there this year, in 2024??
    God’s blessings to you.❣️. Charlotte Platt❤️

    • Corey says:

Hi Charlotte! The quilt hanging behind me is Beholden 2…it’s like Beholden but the blocks are half the size. No, I won’t be at the Quilter’s Gathering this year.

They all are beautiful, I just love the minky on the back. I have a stash of minky that I use every time the quilt is of size that I can. You mentioned a double sided minky blanket. I have one on my bed the quilter didn’t put batting in it she just done a wave stitch to hold the 2 layers together. It is not as heavy as you would think if I done again I would add batting. But I am cold nature and would probably think it felt fine.

Cory, I love the pink and purple Lemoyne star hoodie you were wearing in the video. Where did you find it? I would love to buy one.

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
