Oh, Happy Day! Sampler Sew Along Week 12

Finished Oh, Happy Day! sampler quilt top

It’s the last week of our sampler sew along friends! =)  I am both happy and sad to have this sew along coming to a close.  Happy, because I have a completed quilt top that I got to sew together with all of you.  And sad because it’s over! =)

Today’s instructions include all of the information you’ll need to sew together your Oh, Happy Day! sampler quilt top.

Download the remaining finishing instructions here.

You will want to reference the master cutting list as well.  If you need to print another copy, you can find it here.

You can also download and print out the digital quilt image pictured below.  This shows the block and fabric placement exactly as I made mine.

Download the digital quilt image here.

I’ve put together a video tutorial over on my YouTube channel for the finishing instructions as well.  You can find that video here.

As I said at the beginning of today’s post, I am sad and happy to finish up this sew along.  If you are feeling the same way, I do have two more sew-alongs that will be starting in the new year.  One is the more casual scrappy Irish Chain scrap-along.  I’ve been talking about this one over on YouTube on some of my WIPs/UFO videos.  And the other is Sunny Patches, the Sunwashed BOM that will be starting once Sunwashed is in quilt shops.  I’ll be sharing more information about both of these very soon.  The scrappy Irish Chain scrap-along will mostly be happening over on my YouTube channel and the Sunny Patches BOM will be posted both here and on the channel.

Have fun sewing together your Oh, Happy Day! sampler quilt. Corey

I am a bit behind, but I love this quilt. The fabric is lovely! And I love your book. Looking forward to Sunwashed! Thank you for your love of fabric & quilting.

I’m a bit behind as well. I have 3 blocks left to make, plus all the finishing, but I have so enjoyed doing this on an almost weekly basis. Sometimes my busy life just gets in the way of sewing time which is why I appreciate these videos to refer back too. Have a lovely day!

Lovely quilt Corey! I am loving how mine is looking as it goes together in Spring Brook fabrics. Thank you again for the awesome sewalong!

Will you have pdf links to download for next years’ Irish Chain quilt too? I wasn’t sure if you would with it being on youtube only.

    • Corey says:

For the Irish Chain scrap-along, the pattern we are using is a free pattern. I’ve shared the link to the pattern on YouTube already…it’s this one: https://blog.sewandquilt.co.uk/2015/09/the-finished-scrappy-irish-chain-quilt.html

Aside from the pattern, there aren’t any other PDFs that would need to be shared.
It’s going to be a very casual sew along using scraps. When I chatted about it on YouTube many people were interested in joining in. There were also enough people that wanted a tutorial video on how to piece the blocks so I plan to share a video on that as well.

This finished so beautifully!!! All of the blocks were so fun to put together and the final setting is just wonderful! Thank you for such a gorgeous fabric line and pattern. This was my very first sew along and I have absolutely loved it. I absolutely can’t wait for the next one!!!

That is Beautiful !! love the colors

  7. Mary Smalligan says:

Thank you Corey. You make the most interesting quilt layouts. It really elevates the blocks.

  8. Joy Dickson says:

Thank you so much for this beautiful quilt. I’m almost finished the top. Unfortunately when I got my fat eighth bundle, yardage wasn’t available. I had to substitute. Won’t be as pretty as yours, but I’m so happy to have this gorgeous quilt.

Loved this quilt along! Just finished binding my quilt and it is headed for the couch to snuggle up with during movie night tonight! I used Joyful, Joyful fabric… so also just in time for Christmas!

I had this fabric for a while, but couldn’t find my book. I have now found book and have 4 weeks left to do. I am excited to finish it.
