Pinwheel Quilt Along Blocks Finished

The large blocks for this quilt are now finished.  I think that I am going to add the small pinwheels in the sashing like Rachel’s so I’ll still have some more to make but at least the large ones are done.
I knew right away when I saw the tutorial for the Week #7 blocks that I wanted to use a polka dot for the middle border and I really love the way they turned out.
And for Week #8 we got to pick out our own block pattern.  I decided to use the Double Z block for my last blocks and I must admit that I got a bit carried away.  I loved the scrappy possibilities with this block featuring one color within each block.  I couldn’t decide which colors I wanted to use so, I originally planned 4 blocks but in the end went with 6–I just couldn’t decide.  And, I inadvertently cut too many pieces so I decided to go with it and made more blocks.  My quilt will finish out at 4 blocks by 5 blocks which I think is just perfect & I love the splash of color these blocks provide.  So, without further ado:
I really just adore them! =)
And all the blocks together:
Next week we will be adding the sashing.  =)
