Round 4 Moda Block Heads, Block 11
Does the long weekend have you surprised that it’s already time for another Moda Block Heads block? Block #11 is brought to us by Jackie MacDonald of Sweetfire Road.
It is called Moda Block-Berry.
You will find the PDF pattern on Jackie’s blog here.
Because I am making a fall themed quilt using my Cozy Up fabrics, I went with an acorn sort of block. I realize that it’s not technically an acorn with those little green leaves, but it does have an acorn vibe. So, I’ll take it! =)
I think it looks so cute with my maple leaf block from last week!
I think these blocks are going to be wonderful to see how different they are going to look in different fabrics. If I weren’t doing a fall-themed quilt and going with more of a scrappy version, this would have been adorable in scrappy, berry colors. I saw a peek of Jackie’s block last week and it was beautiful! If you haven’t been visiting her blog, make sure that you do…her blocks have been so stunning. I have really been enjoying her fabrics lines. She is a new Moda designer and her collections have been so lovely!
While you are here, I wanted to let you know that my June pattern of the month is Sunny Flowers. Doesn’t this pattern look pretty with the maple leaf and “acorn” block?
Sunny Flowers is available in my Etsy shop for $5 for the month of June in either PDF or Paper versions. Note: My Etsy shop is going to be closed next week (June 5-11) so make sure to do any shopping you’d like to before then. =)
The fabrics in the Sunny Flowers quilt are from my upcoming Buttercup & Slate collection which should be in shops in late summer/early fall.
And just a reminder about my Lone Star block giveaway from last week. If you missed that announcement you can read more about it here. =)
I will be back on Friday with the next block in our Heartfelt quilt along…see you then! Corey
