Sewcialites Round 2, Block 14
What a springy little quick to piece block we have for today’s Sewcialites block.
This block is brought to us by April Rosenthal of Prairie Grass Patterns. You will find the block pattern here.
What a quick to piece block!…especially after those of the last few weeks. I even simplified mine further by cutting my A & D pieces as one long strip (rather than the 4 individual rectangles the pattern called for of each). For the 3″ block, I used a strip 1″ x 7″ for A as well as for D. I then sewed the two strips together and subcut into (4) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ A/D pieces.
To use this same method for the 6″ blocks, you’d use strips cut at 1 1/2″ x 11″. For the 9″ blocks, you’d use strips cut at 2″ x 15″. These strips are slightly longer than you’d need so you have plenty of room to trim them down to size.
I also opted to use triangle paper for the HSTs. I think you’ll enjoy piecing this block!
Have a wonderful Friday! Corey
Thank you for all your hard work your love of quilting.
It doesn’t feel like so much work when it is so much fun. =)
Thank you for the quilting tips! It’s so nice of you to share these! Stay warm! We live in NYS and the cold wave has just hit us this morning. Brrrrrrr!
It’s been chilly!…you stay warm too!
I love your Spring Brook line. Working on my second quilt using it.
Thank you!…I’ve enjoyed mixing it with Buttercup & Slate for these blocks!
Stunning block in tiny configuration. I love it.💖💖🌷
