Sewcialites Round 2, Block 17

Vanessa Goertzen’s block for us this week was so much fun to piece.  It is a simple quarter square triangle block & quick to piece.

You will find the block pattern here.

I opted to piece the quarter square triangles using the two square method rather than cutting all of the individual triangles.  I’m always so happy with how my QST’s go together using that method.

We don’t have that many more weeks to go and all of our blocks will be complete.  I’m excited to sew this quilt together. =)

Have a wonderful time sewing up your block! Corey

I always check your site to get ideas on fabric colors for each of the blocks. I will admit I shudder to think of doing the teeny 3″ ones…..

Your accuracy on the tiny squares impresses me. I know you are an expert quilter (1 of the many reasons we follow you aside from your delightful personality) but something so tiny just boggles my mind! Cannot wait to see the whole tiny quilt.

    Hi,

I’m going to reveal my ignorance and ask what is the two-square method you mentioned?

Hi! When doing your 3 inch bl9cks for Seecialtes 2, do you use foundation paper such as the square in a square paper? You blocks are so perfect and beautiful. Thank you.

  5. Cory, I am finally getting around to making Lemongrass this year using my stash of Pepper & Flax. For the background I’ll need to buy from your Coriander Seeds collection. Which ones would best coordinate? I like choices 😉
    Thank you.

Definitely the medallion print. It was originally from Pepper & Flax and the reason that I designed the Coriander Seeds collection, so that I could have more of that print! Any of the Coriander Seeds fabrics will match with P&F though.

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
