Star Squared Quilt
I had the fun of working with Mary McGuire’s Grace line of fabric a 2nd time for my Star Squared quilt(pretend that this quilt is hanging vertically!–I didn’t realize until after I got it all pinned up that I had it sideways!). The first quilt I designed was Grace’s Flower Garden which you can read more about here.
Star Squared utilizes big blocks, prints & solids, and finishes at a roomy 70″ x 88″.
Angela did a beautiful job of quilting this quilt!
Star Squared was featured in Fons & Porter Love of Quilting March/April 2014. And it’s available as a free pattern on the F&P Website! You can find it here.
I plan to list this quilt in my Etsy shop shortly—so if you love it keep an eye out!

My weekend sewing plans include finishing the applique row on a Round Robin guild project. Guild meets Tuesday evening and it has to be done! After that, who knows? Probably work on a WIP!

My weekend plans include a trip to a local quilt store for a BOM meeting to pick up the block for April. I also plan some gardening as I have tomatoes to plant.
I have two quilts partly quilted so will spend time doing the quilting on my dsm.
One more project to work on, I have pincushions out of wool with pretty flowers to do hand stitching on with pearl cotton thread and floss.
So a busy weekend is planned.

My weekend sewing plans begin with a good cleaning and oiling of my poor ol’ sewing machine and then starting on some UFO’s — a patchwork pillow that has been hanging around a while and some welding hats for my husband. A happy and productive weekend to all.

Love this quilt! Today is actually my “weekend” because I work Saturday and Sundays and I am spending it starting a Scrumptious On A Whim quilt for my mama! I might throw a making a mini in there too cause I just can’t help it. Can you ever have too many minis?

I love your use of the fabrics to provide a sense of a third dimension. To me, it seems the patterned stars are in the background with the solid fabric stars floating on top. Lovely work. I am also enjoying working on your cross stitch sampler. I haven’t gotten to your latest- Friendship Star- but i hope to get going on it this weekend. I got intrigued with Crafty Mummy’s cross stitch project too so I’ve been bouncing between the two. Lovely quilt! My weekend sewing plans include finishing up ten three inch size paper pieced blocks (completed thirty-four so far) for two table runners one for a friend and one for myself using my 30’s novelty fabrics.

I love this quilt! I have been sewing all my life butam a somewhat new quilter but so far seem to be drawn to anything with stars! I have some market bags to sew this weekend; then hope to get caught up with a layer cake quilt-a-long that I am participating in. I love the aqua and coral tones in this fabric and would be so excited to win it!!
No quilting for me. I have four Easter dresses for grands to get done. Two have to be sent to VA, so I have to have done soon as I gave the PO a week to get there.

I just rearrnged my sewing room, so I need to get back in to the “groove” again! This weekend I plan on cutting out a dress for me for Easter and summer wear and hopefully get it done! I haven’t sewn clothing in a while, so I’m sure it will be an adjustment!
I plan to make at least one doll, and to hopefully finish a quilt top that’s been in my WIP for over a year.
This weekend I simply must complete a lap quilt that I am making for my neighbour who turns 80 on April 10th!!! It’s taking a little longer because I am handquilting designs all over it and I still need to decide on the binding, but it is lovely and I know that she will be very surprised!!

Well – this weekend I would really like to finish two very small bags with zippers……for some unknown reason these bags are just a nuisance rather than quickly done. Should have been finished yesterday, but they need to be ‘unsewed’ this morning !

My two best quilting buddies are coming Saturday to quilt and have lunch. They usually bring me scraps I use for charity quilts. Can’t wait.. But have to finish the vacuuming now.
Beautiful fabrics and an amazing quilt. We are in the process of finishing our basement, so everything is packed in the garage. The plan is to be done Easter weekend, and then I will be sewing like crazy in my brand new craft room!
I plan to glue rigid foam pieces together & wrap them with batting for an 8’x8′ design wall! I also hope to whip up a travel tray for a birthday gift and get started on piecing my Triangle QAL project.
I always love the way you use traditional blocks in a modern fashion. I’ll be trying to cut this pattern down to make charity quilts for our local hospitals. This weekend I plan to complete a HST quilt using oranges,yellows and reds with Kona white to donate. The HSTs are done, just need to sew them together.

Stars are my favorite style of block. I love those colors you have and am really tempted to put these colors and pattern at the top of my “to do ” list. Turquoise and muted peach and cream are a trio favorite of mine..and these are close enough to be used! Hopefully I would win the drawing, but if not…I’ll watch the stores as I really like this trio.

I’m sure I won’t be the one you choose for 4 the” scraps”. I never win anything. That said I am trying to mend a quilt for a friend that her deceased mother-in-law made for her about 60 years ago. Daunting task. Floy is almost 83 years old and a widow. Love her like my own mother.

I didn’t get to do any sewing for the weekend. I went to visit my parents, as my Mom recently had a stroke. It was good to be with them, even though I didn’t get to sew. I did however get to a couple of quilting stores and got some cute fabrics!

Absolutely LOVE this quilt. I think it just moved to #1 on my next project list. I spent the weekend putting a border on a primitive quilt and sewing covers for several large cushions.

Absolutely gorgeous quilt and loved your Candy Scraps quilt for Moda too. I’m going to be making a bunch of mug rugs this weekend.
