Star Squared Quilt

Star Squared

I had the fun of working with Mary McGuire’s Grace line of fabric a 2nd time for my Star Squared quilt(pretend that this quilt is hanging vertically!–I didn’t realize until after I got it all pinned up that I had it sideways!).  The first quilt I designed was Grace’s Flower Garden which you can read more about here.

Star Squared utilizes big blocks, prints & solids, and finishes at a roomy 70″ x 88″.

Quilting Closeup

Angela did a beautiful job of quilting this quilt!

Quilting

Star Squared was featured in Fons & Porter Love of Quilting March/April 2014.  And it’s available as a free pattern on the F&P Website!  You can find it here.

I plan to list this quilt in my Etsy shop shortly—so if you love it keep an eye out!

And now, how about a little Fabric Scrap giveaway?–I have a bunch of Grace Fabric Scraps left over and I’m happy to send them to a new home.

  143. carol n says:

beautiful quilt and colors, I am sure I could come up with something to make

  144. The colors in this are beautiful! Loving the big blocks. I just got back from a quilting retreat, so I was quite happy with the progress that I made on a triangle quilt this weekend.

  145. Melissa says:

What a beautiful quilt! I’m hoping to get some bee blocks done this weekend.

  146. Patty says:

Your quilt is beautiful. This weekend I will be watching 2 grandbabies and having lots of cuddling time. So probably no sewing until late Sunday night. I am working on a T-shirt quilt for my niece’s graduation.

  147. Sherry VF says:

Your quilt is beautiful and the quilting especially nice. I’m sewing a quilt backing for a friend who’s husband recently passed away. He was a music fan so the back has sheet music fabric and some framed quotes about music. It almost looks like a quilt top. svonfumetti at yahoo dot com

Absolutely beautiful quilt! Love the colors you’ve chosen!

  149. Kathie Craig says:

Thank you for the giveaway!! I am a newbie to quilting and just trying to learn the ins and outs of the craft. I love the combination of colors in the Grace Fabric Scraps and how well they compliment each other.

  150. Lisa E says:

Boy, you have been a productive quilter. Another winner. I didn’t have any sewing plans this past weekend, because I’m doing taxes, the kids are on Spring Break, and my husband has been out of town. Sniff!

  151. Lisa McGriff says:

Beautiful! My weekend plans were to sew as much as possible. I finished my hexagon mini quilt for a swap, two bee blocks, repaired a pillow case and got things picked out for my barn….

  152. Natalie F says:

I will be making my daughters pillow case dresses.

  153. What a beautiful quilt! I’ve already printed the instructions and can’t wait to find the perfect fabric to get started. My weekend sewing plans included some hand stitching as we were camping! It was fun. Thank you for the giveaway!

This is a beautiful quilt! I did not do any sewing over the weekend. 🙁

  155. Jolynn Keel says:

I didn’t get to do any sewing for the weekend. I went to visit my parents, as my Mom recently had a stroke. It was good to be with them, even though I didn’t get to sew. I did however get to a couple of quilting stores and got some cute fabrics!

  156. Nicole Sender says:

Weekends are workdays for me so I plan on sewing baby bibs this week!

Love the quilt and the fabric is beautiful. My plans for the weekend are traveling to a town I used to live in about 4 hours away. I met many great friends there through the guild. I’m going to their spring retreat, so lots of sewing from Thursday night through to Sunday afternoon. Lots of sewing, visiting, eating and laughter with old friends. Should be a hoot!!

I would love to give this fabric a home and make it into a beautiful scrap quilt, thank you for the chance!

  163. Rhonda says:

Absolutely LOVE this quilt. I think it just moved to #1 on my next project list. I spent the weekend putting a border on a primitive quilt and sewing covers for several large cushions.

  164. Beth says:

I plan on joining a charity quilt circle and these would be perfect in making blocks!

I love the design by the way…….do you have a tutorial, or pattern for this? Would love to make it!

  165. June Robertson says:

Absolutely gorgeous quilt and loved your Candy Scraps quilt for Moda too. I’m going to be making a bunch of mug rugs this weekend. I retire at the end of the month (oodles of time for quilting then :)) so I’m making some giveaways of my own for dear colleagues. I would be thrilled to give a good home to your leftovers!
