2026 BOM Border 1 Pattern

It’s In the Garden BOM Border 1 release day!
This month is super simple. We are adding on two narrow borders to our checkerboard center. The first is our contrast fabric followed by our background fabric. Enjoy this easy month as we have a bit more piecing coming up next month. =)
Download the In the Garden Mystery BOM Border 1 pattern here.
I’m sharing a quick tutorial and showing my block over on YouTube today. I’d love to have you watch!
If you are just now stumbling onto the In the Garden BOM, all of the information that’s been shared previously can be found at the bottom of this blog post.

We also have our next Secialites block available to download. This is the block that I designed for Sewcialites, Daylight.

She’s cute and happy in all of those strawberry Fruit Salad fabrics!

Download the Daylight block pattern here.
If you’ve missed previous Sewcialites block patterns and/or information about the sew along, you can find all of that here.
Lastly, just a quick reminder that tomorrow is the last day to preorder a Wooly Flowers travel clapper.

Chris designed these clappers to perfectly coordinate with my Wooly Flowers quilt pattern. They are the cutest! They include thread holders and a magnetic front. I shared about them in last week’s video. This is a one time design and they won’t be available again. If you are planning to purchase, be sure to get your pre-order in by tomorrow.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend! Corey
ITG Mystery BOM

Corey,
I’ve noticed that Riley Blake fabrics ravel so bad – I made your 2025 BOM using your fabrics and now I’m having to cut the raveling threads off the back – any suggestion to stop this?
Sorry I meant Moda however I have problems with Riley Blake too.
Starch or best press helps with raveling.
Hi Corey!
Question… what are the clips you have your quilt hanging from on the curtain rod behind you in video??
Cheryl Sharp
They are curtain rod clips.
If that ironing board is too high, why don’t you switch to a wool pressing pad? It works well for me.
This is just the mini board I use to demo on camera. I have a large ironing station off camera. Wool pressing pads shouldn’t be placed on a wooden table as the steam and heat would ruin the wood finish.
Is Delores washing her fabrics first? That could be the problem. I do not wash my fabrics ever before piecing.
Hi Corey! I’m thinking about joining in this BOM with your In the Garden fabrics! What are your thoughts on using the teal color from the line as my contrast fabric? Thank you so much!
I think that would be pretty!
Hi! My layer cake I’m using has only 24 different patterns. Will this be okay or will I need 40 separate patterns in my fabric? Thanks
Corey, Thank you for all of your hard work in putting this BOM together.
Question for you. I didn’t starch my fabric, but used steam throughout sewing my block together. I thought I was careful with my cutting and sewing it together, but my block one measures 1/2” short. What did I do wrong and what can I do to correct it? I so wanted to start out on the right foot. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Could this be made with Woolie Flannels by Maywood Studios?
Hi Corey, I’m jumping in with the BOM … I’m using a fat eighth bundle and a couple of larger pieces of “Buttercup and Slate” and throwing in some coordinating fabrics from my stash. Do you think the gray from “In the Garden” would be ok to use as the accent border?
I love your newsletter it’s always great to read and learn new things each week with helpful information and techniques! You are amazing!
Hi Corey! I have really been enjoying the BOM! Many of my friends have been watching my progress and would like to make a BOM. I would love to do this in our Quilt Guild next year as we have been working alot with borders. How would be the best way to do this? May I make copies for the guild members or would this violate your copyright? I want to to the right thing! Thank you for all your hard work!!!
