Free Scrappy Tree Block PDF Pattern

Happy Saturday Friends! I hope all of my American friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ryan & I hosted my family at our house and it was a really nice day. One of the most fun things for me was having our brand new this year niece at our festivities. She is 10 months old and so much fun. It’s crazy to think that she wasn’t at our Thanksgiving last year…she’s added such joy to our family. The other thing that gave me pause was realizing that the high chair we got out of storage for her to use is 18 years old. I can hardly believe it was that long ago that we would have used it for our littles. Goodness!

Well, the purpose of this blog post isn’t to reminisce about my little babies but rather to share about another free, scrappy block pattern. This block is the 5th in the series of scrappy block patterns I’ve released this year. If you’ve missed any of the scrappy blocks so far, here they are again:

Scrappy Clover

Scrappy Heart

Scrappy Tulip

Scrappy Flag

You can also find the blog posts about all of these blocks here.

The Scrappy Tree block pattern is available here.

As with the previous blocks, this block creates a neat secondary pattern when the blocks are sewn together. I think rotating the tree blocks across a whole quilt would be beautiful!

These are all of the blocks I’ve shared so far.  They are all made using mostly my fabrics although I did sneak a couple other fabrics into my tree block. There are two non-Coriander fabrics in that one. =) I have more of these scrappy blocks planned for the future so be sure to subscribe to the blog or YouTube channel so you don’t miss out! Speaking of the YouTube channel, Ryan & I filmed a Scrappy Tree block video that you can watch here.

I also wanted to give one final reminder about the November $5 pattern of the month, Snowy. You have through November 30 to grab the pattern for just $5. The paper patterns have sold out but you can still purchase a PDF pattern if you’d like to for $5 through that date. Purchase the Snowy PDF pattern here.

This is great! Thank you so much for all the free scrappy block patterns! I have a new quilt shop opening in January in Marianna, Florida – not my quilt shop (ha, I wish!), but I will surely be shopping there, probably too much! ANYHOW, I asked if they will carry Moda, and the answer was yes, so I asked if they have ordered Star Berry yet, and the answer was … YES!!! I am so excited to get my hands on that fabric!!!

If you look back just a couple blog posts, I shared some other images of Snowy using fabric lines that are currently in quilt shops. I think any of those would be very pretty!

    • Corey says:

When looking at the photo, the quilt on the far right with the dark background, is called Wishes. You can always find quilt pattern information (for the quilts in my videos) in the description box below the video when you watch it on YouTube. =)

Thanks Corey for the darling tree block! It is exactly what I want to use in both a table runner and a wall hanging for my Christmas decorating this year. Since I have plenty of Christmas fabrics I won’t have to buy any new fabrics, but can still sew up some new stuff. I have several jelly rolls, several bundles and some larger yardage pieces of various Christmas fabric lines that will do fine. I have a snowman banner-type quilt that I made several years ago, but maybe it’s time for a new snowman wall hanging to use after Christmas, so your $5 Snowy pattern sounds like a bargain to me! Thanks for your generous spirit of sharing your gifts and talents with us! I love, love, love your new Starberry fabric line and can’t wait to get some of my very own!

Hi, Corey! Thank you so much for the free Scrappy Quilt block patterns. Very thoughtful designs, by a thoughtful woman. Last year I divided my scraps by color and this year have trimmed them down to usable pieces. Looking forward to trying these scrap blocks. Take care.
