Great Granny Sew Along
Did you guys see the new Sew Along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop? If you loved the Quilty Fun Sew Along you won’t want to miss this one. This sew along features blocks from Lori Holt’s Holt’s Great Granny Squared book.
You’ll find all of the fabric/supply requirements listed in this Fat Quarter Shop blog post. And Lori talks more about the sew along here. I had a lot of fun pulling some fabrics this morning for the sew along.
I can’t wait to cut into them!–It’s a mix of Lori’s line Vintage Happy, the new 30’s Playtime line from Moda, Flea Market Fancy, & Katie Jump Rope & I have a little bit of DS Quilts from Joann’s thrown in there as well.

Clever marketing for Fat Quarter Shop to sell more books and/or fabric. I am seeing more and more of these types of sew-alongs. If I buy the book, I don’t need a sew-along. Just my humble opinion.
I love sew-alongs. I already have the book and in all honesty it’s some times more fun to do it “with” others than by my self. To each their own, but these types of things are the modern version of a quilting bee. Especially for those of us who work and don’t have time for guilds and what not.
Oh this is such a beautiful stack of fabrics you have selected for the sew along. I love the colors, it is going to be a happy quilt.
I think sew a longs are FUN.
I would love to join in but we have a rough couple of months moving the olden folks ::::shudders:::: frightening to even think about it lol
But i will certainly be enjoying the view from my computer and see what everyone comes up with. Sewwww exciting
Thanks for the heads up about this sew-a-long. I’m not sure why I missed it in info I get from the FQS but I followed your link and can’t wait for the sew-a-long to start.
