Moda Block Heads Block 51
It’s time for Block 51 of Moda Block Heads…just in time for some New Year’s Eve sewing. What a fun way to ring in the New Year.
Do you all stay up late and see the New Year in?…or in this case see the Old Year out! =) I am quite happy to be snuggled up in my warm cozy bed long before midnight.
Our block this week is brought to us by Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique. It is called Spark Plug and you will find the block pattern on her blog.
I used a mix of Apricot & Ash (gray) and Sunnyside Up (purple). I knew I wanted to use the gray for the center and I asked my daughter, Elonie, what color I should use for the outside and she picked purple…so purple it is. I thought that was a great choice..and I did need some more blocks with purple in them.

I like this block a lot and think using it in different colors would make a beautiful quilt.
I am new to quilting and I saw this block. Is there a “pattern” to figure the amounts needs to do a queen size quilt? Can you point in the right direction? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
