Serendipity Quilt Along
The kick off for the Serendipity quilt along has arrived. Are you sewing along with either the quilt along or stitch along?
If you are unfamiliar with the Serendipity quilt along, you can read all about it here. I plan to sew along using Apricot & Ash fabrics and you can read more about my fabrics and the skus you’d need to use Apricot & Ash here.
This is the stack of fabrics that I will be using:
Instead of using Moda Bella solid in 9900-200 for my background I am using the white tone on tone from Sugarcreek for my background. It is the prettiest little flower print and I quite like it with the Apricot & Ash prints. It’s the same background print I used on the larger Beholden block below.
If you wanted to use a tone on tone white for your blocks just to give them a little bit of something special, the Spring Brook orange peel print is very pretty. As I’ve mentioned before, I really like using a white/white print for backgrounds–they press up so nicely within a block. And they give it such a nice finish.
I can’t wait to see all of your Serendipity Spring Brook quilts start popping up. Since the quilt that I am making will be auctioned off along with Kimberly’s quilt, I wanted to use something different. I think Apricot & Ash will be so pretty!
You can find the information for the first row of the Serendipity quilt here.
These are the blocks that I have created for Row 1.

And my bocks sewn together:
The first row is finished!
Kimberly will be hosting a video tutorial on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube channel for making this row tomorrow (03/11/2021) if you’d like some tips. You can tune in here.
And, in addition to the Serendipity quilt along, there is a stitch along. The details for this can be found on the Fat Quarter Shop blog.
And lastly, I wanted to share about my brand new Spring Brook selvage mugs. In case you are making your Serendipity quilt in Spring Brook and you want to sip and sew in style!
They feature the little bee prints on one side of the mug and the quote from the selvage on the other side of the mug.
And they come in Blue or Yellow.
I think they are just the cutest mugs. I plan to release more selvage mugs to coordinate with my future fabric collections and have some plans for previous collections as well.
The mugs are available for purchase in my Etsy shop. Please note that patterns and mugs ship separately should you happen to place an order that includes both.
I am looking forward to sewing along with all of you during the Serendipity quilt along! Have a wonderful Wednesday! Corey
Yippee! I’m sewing along with the kit from FQS. So excited to get to use Spring Brook. It’s so enjoyable to sew with fabrics that are a pleasure to look at. Your row is gorgeous.
My kit is on its way, but my favourite fabric collection is Apricot and Ash. I have a half yard bundle, so I’m going to use that for Serendipity. That way I can keep up too, as I likely won’t receive my kit for two to three more weeks. Takes a while to get through customs.
Love the Serendipity quilt with dark blue background! But I also love what you’re doing with Apricot & Ash. Your Spring Brook line will also look great. I guess I just love ALL your beautiful fabric lines❣️
So excited to get started and I also ordered the yellow spring brook mug, what a surprise to find out you have writting on the back. Thank you for the beautiful fabric and great quilt alongs.
Corey your blocks are Beautiful I Love the colors.I looked at your Cloud Peels that is a nice background fabric. Oh and I also love your mugs they are so cute and I like what is written on them. I will have to get myself one. Thank You 😊♥️
I love your fabric choices for the Serendipity quilt using your new fabric line. I also love the your fabric line in the Serendipity quilt the Fat Quarter Shop made.
Hope all is well, I have been eagerly waiting for my first on line quilt along, Serendipity! I was wanting to make it a king size and wanted to know how much more fabric I would need and squares to make this happen. Thanks for your time
