Sewcialites Round 2, Block 22

Today’s Sewcialites block is brought to us by Jessica Dayon.  It’s called Ohio Twist.  I think if you look closely, you’ll see why that name fits this block. =)

You’ll find the Ohio Twist PDF pattern here.

Tiggs was happy to help inspect the quality of this block. =)  He says it has his cat seal of perfection….literally:

I took time this week to lay out all of my Sewcialites blocks from round 1 and round 2 to see what colors I might need to focus on for these last couple blocks we’ll be making.  I noticed that I was a little bit “light” on the light gray blocks.  So, I think for this week and the next two, I’ll make sure to add plenty of the light gray shades from Buttercup & Slate and Spring Brook.  If you haven’t laid out all of your blocks recently to check the color balance, it’d be a great time to do so.  It really helps to see what you might want to add yet.

I didn’t make any changes to the piecing this week…I didn’t even use triangle paper–but you certainly could!  I did change the pressing a little bit in the last two steps.  I opted to press the units away from the hourglass units in all rows so they’d nest in the last step.  Then, pressed those final 2 seams toward the center (rather than open).

Have fun sewing your block! Corey

The block is very pretty. I love any picture with Mr. Tiggs. The “stamp” of approval was so cute. Clearly he gives the block a “paws” up.
    Have a beautiful day.
