Spring Brook Blossoms: Buttercup Block

Today is the third Monday of the month and you know what that means!  It is time for another Spring Brook Blossoms block release.  I have so many fun things to share with you today but first let’s talk about block four.  But make sure to read to the end!

Our fourth block for the Spring Brook Blossoms Sew along is the Buttercup block.  Last month, I shared that the Friendship Star block might be one of my favorite quilt blocks..as an Ohio girl, I am also quite partial to the Ohio Star which is the center block for this month.  In fact, I love the Ohio Star block so much, that I designed my Line Dried quilt pattern just to show off the Ohio Star block.

You will find the pattern for the Spring Brook Blossoms Buttercup block here.

I like making my hourglass blocks or quarter square triangle block with over-sized squares and then trimming them down to size.  This makes the Ohio Star block such a simple one to piece.

I hope you love piecing your blocks this month!  If you missed it, I am using Spring Brook fabrics for my blocks and my white on white background is from my Holliberry line of fabric.

Now, I want to share a little more fun quilt along news.  Jen, from Quiltable, contacted me several months ago wondering about the possibility of designing quilting patterns to go along with this sew along.  Of course, I thought that would be amazing!

10 brand new, edge to edge, quilting patterns are now available on the Quiltable website made just for this quilt along.  You can see all of them here.  How fun is that!  Now, you can opt to have your longarm quilter use any of these quilting patterns to complete your quilt.  I had so much fun choosing my favorite to use on my quilt.  I just got my quilt back from my longarmer, David,  and wanted to share a peek with all of you.

Several of the new quilting designs are quilted versions of the little bee from my Spring Brook Fabric.  See how the little bees in the fabric match?

I am smitten with this quilting!  This quilting design is called Busy Corey Bees…so stinkin’ cute. =)

Those extra white spaces at the top and bottom of the quilt are the perfect showcase for the quilting.  You will definitely want to check out the other brand new quilting designs available.  I had a hard time narrowing it down to just one and will definitely need to use some of the others in the future.  You can find Quiltable online on Facebook here  and Instagram here.

I also wanted to share that my longarm quilter for my Spring Brook Blossoms quilt, David, has generously offered to quilt one lucky winner’s completed quilt at the completion of this quilt along.  You will definitely want to keep an eye out for that giveaway in September.

If you have missed any of my other posts for this quilt along here are all of the posts so far:

Lastly, I will be sharing about my brand new fabric line, Beautiful Day, over on Instagram starting this week.  If you’d like a peek, pop on over there.  Take care, and have a wonderful Monday!

Thank you for your lovely fabric and patterns. I’ve looked at the new pantos. Any suggestions for a hand guided long armer? No automation or stitch regulator here.

I have been following along with you and I am making mine out of Apricot and Ashes. It is turning out so cute! And I love that you can work ahead making the stems and even the outer petals. Thanks so much for this pattern.

Such beautiful quilting designs from Quiltable. Will be sure to pass it along to my LAQ, Rachel from #stitchedincolor. She lives in the Netherlands, and does awesome work. Hmm, makes me think that Jen should do more of these for other QAL, especially those ‘challenging’ Sampler Quilts. Will post my Serendipity when it’s finished.

  6. It is not everyone’s business to write such a great post, one person in a million can write such a beautiful post and you are one of those millions. I hope that you will write more beautiful posts in life and also hope that you will keep climbing the ladder of achievement in your life, very few people do this but I have full hope from you.

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
