April WIPs and Lost Quilt Tops!

It’s a fun, works-in-progress video over on YouTube today.

I discovered some quilt tops I didn’t know I had tucked away plus sharing some new fabric purchases and a Dresden quilt block update. I’d love if you’d watch!

You can catch the video here.

Have a wonderful weekend! Corey

Hey Corey: I liked the brighter yellow for your dresden quilt. I am not sure about the white corner stones. Would a softer teal or another color from the dresdens work? For some reason I couldn’t wrap my head around the white. I know computers show colors different so maybe you are looking at something different than what I see on my screen. Definitely the brighter yellow, as the other “yellow” shows more orange on my screen.
I only have 2 tops to quilt. I make my quilts for a specific person or a specific reason. Right now I am waiting for fabric for my granddaughter’s HS quilt as she will be a freshman in the fall. It’s going to be done in her school colors. I also FMQ all my quilts, so since I am making them for a specific person/reason they get finished right away so they can be gifted. I never make the same quilt twice. Now all the fabrics for my quilts – well that’s a different story – there are lots of quilt tops waiting to be made, always the last one LOL!. My new year’s resolution these past 2 years was to get that closet cleaned out – well looks like that will be the same for 2025!!! Finish your quilt the way you want and what makes you feel good. Thanks for your fun and informative videos. Look forward to them.

It’s wonderful that you finish your quilts before moving onto your next project. I’m sure that keeps things moving along. =)

Hi Corey, love your video today! Do you put batting in donated quilts w minky batting? Also where can I find the tulip quilt pattern made w strips? Thanks so much for sharing!

    • Corey says:

Thanks so much!…yes, I do use batting in quilts with minky backing. The quilting looks much better than without. The book that quilt is from is listed in the description box below the video…it’s a book by Pam & Nicky Lintott.

Hi Corey! Loved the brighter yellow for the sashings but was wondering if you had any of the white with small red/pink dots left? Think that would be so cute with the dots matching back to the centers. I’d love to see it when it’s finished!

Hi Corey, So love your videos — they get me all inspired to keep quilting when I should be mowing the grass (ugh!). In this latest video you showed your “Sewing Machine Mini” for which the pattern no longer exists. I would so much like to make this little quilt as a wall hanging for my sewing room. I know you are incredibly busy, but would love to have you recreate the pattern if possible.

Hi Corey. I was wondering about the red/orange quilt you found in the closet. Would you be willing to sell it and donate the money to the place where you take your donated quilts. I just love that quilt.

Hi Cory…..I live in Georgia but we are from Ohio. When we lived in Ohio we lived close to Berlin and when coming to Ohio now I always stop at Plaid Sheep. While there the last trip I got to meet your aunt. I love your fabrics and appreciate the talent the LORD has blessed you with. Thank you!

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
