More Sunnyside Up Quilts

Well, we’ve made it to another Friday and the weekend is upon us.  What plans do you have for the weekend?

I know that I would like to relax a bit after a super busy week—and hopefully find some time to fit some sewing in.  I can always tell when I haven’t been at my machine as much as I would like and I start thinking about all of the things I’d like to be sewing!

As promised, here are some more of my Sunnyside Up quilts.  I don’t know if I’ll be able to share all of them with you today… I don’t want to overwhelm you with quilt photos.

The first quilt I am sharing today is called Lemon Meringue.

For my quilt, I used 4 of the Sunnyside Up panels in the quilt.  But, the pattern also includes fabric requirements and instructions for making the quilt without the panels, if you prefer.

If you think these blocks look familiar, it’s because they are the small size (12″) of my very popular Barn Star pattern I released with Pepper & Flax.  If you remember, Barn Star is a 40″ wall hanging, 1 block quilt.

I had so many requests to make this Barn Star quilt in a 12″ size, so here it is!  (By the way, if you are wondering, the quilt hanging behind the Barn Star quilt above, is called 9th & Vine…pattern is in my shop).  Kaylene Parry did a beautiful job quilting this one.

Next up is Delighted…and it was a delight to make!

I haven’t done a lot of applique recently and I just couldn’t get this quilt out of my head.  All of those yummy, sherbet colored petals on that wonderful dark background.  The background is Moda Etchings Charcoal.  I use this shade a lot–it’s the prettiest warm, dark grey.

Rebecca did the custom quilting on this one for me.  I love what she did–I love a traditional feather quilting motif and this design really brings the whole quilt together.

On to Hello Friend, which is a quilt I have had in my design portfolio since before Prairie was released.  I’ve tried it out in a couple of my collections since then, even tried using some Fig Tree fabrics for it and it just never seemed quite right.  Well, I loved it in Sunnyside Up and I have finally released the pattern—several years in the making!

Of course I had to Rainbow-ize it…and I love those dark 9 patches, again using Etchings Charcoal Grey.

The diagonal gingham stripe worked so well in the sashing.  And Kaylene’s quilting just pulled the whole thing together.  I love an all over orange peel quilting motif.  These blocks come together very quickly using a simple piecing method–no templates and not tricky to piece at all.

And, I think that’s going to be it for this post!  Still more quilts to share but they will have to wait.  As always, patterns are in my shop in both Paper and PDF format.  All of the listings include fabric requirements as well as quilt sizes so you can see exactly what you are getting yourself into. =)

Have a wonderful weekend!
