2026 BOM Border 4 Pattern
I know you are all eager for the next border installment for the In the Garden Border of the Month, so let’s just chat about that right away.
First, just a bit of housekeeping here at the top of this post so hopefully most people see it!
1. The Coriander Quilts Etsy shop is closed today (July 18) through July 26. (I had mentioned this last week)

And now on to the fun stuff!
We are doing quite a bit more sewing than we did last month to create our next really pretty border.

Corey, I’m loving the BOMs. This last week I “borrowed back” last years BOM from the little girl that received it for her birthday so I could share it for Show and Tell at my guild meeting. So many “oohs and ahhs”. The members loved it and the happy fabric it was made with (Cali & Co.)! And I may have gotten a few more viewers for you. Thank you for all the fun I’m having.

I am enjoying this BOM so much, and this latest border is such a knock-out addition. I cannot wait to see the final quilt for this, but am keeping up and enjoying the process every step of the way. Thank you Corey!

Corey, where can we get your Perfect half square quarter quarter square triangle ruler? Did I get that right from your video?
Yes!..you have the right name. I don’t have a great spot to send you to. What I kept finding when I was looking for a good shop to list is the June Taylor Shape Cut Ruler in the 12″ size. It is similar but not exactly the same and it doesn’t include the marking part that I was using. You can take a look at that one and see what you think. If you were going to be using it primarily for marking, I would suggest using either the Fons & Porter (or Creative Grids) one I mentioned very briefly in the video as that one works great for just the marking part.
Corey, having such a great time sewing this Boarder of the Month it is such an exciting change and today’s border will knock it out of the park. Just a thought for next year would like to have another project similar to this maybe a little bit bigger. I have learned if it is just a 12 block pattern to do 2 blocks. Another ideal would be do a 12 block but with a block setting that creates another pattern similar to what we are doing this time to make those 12 blocks a bigger quilt without just adding stripped borders. Keep on creating the beautiful things I love. I will post later but I am using your line of flannel doing a small quilt a month for the babies in NICU at our local hospital. Each month the quilt measure about 36” and it is just one big block. I had the fat quarter bundle hoping bit will get me thru all 12 months. They are so cute.

This is my 1st medallion style quilt and I am really enjoying that I will not end up with a bunch of blocks to assemble all at the end. (Un)fortunately, my machine became unusable just before the start of your sew along. I say (un) because I don’t know when I’ll be able have it serviced. I didn’t want to wait, so I am hand-piecing this, which I am loving. However, for this month, I need some guidance. I know strip piecing is not recommended for hand-piecing, as the stitches will come loose. Would you recommend sub-cutting the strips into squares to be pieced? Or, is there a way to piece the strips by hand? I know it’d be A LOT of squares, but I wouldn’t mind that if would yield the best results.
For hand piecing, I do think I would be inclined to cut the individual squares and then hand sew them that way.
Hi Corey, this is my second block of the month in 4 years. I just keep busy sewing quilt tops and more quilt tops with no one recipient in mind. Needless to say I love sewing. I am glad you are on a 1 Saturday a month schedule. I am recovering my major surgery and hope to get my 4th border done by tomorrow. This quilt is the best therapy…. to say the least. I enjoy watching your channel and looking forward to border 5. I am using your Cozy Up fabric line and I must say I am in love with the fabric! See you tomorrow.
Hi, Corey! I sure wish you had broken down Border 4 into two months instead of just one month. I’m behind on Border 4 and thought I was doing great by completing 10 Blocks/the top border and the right hand side border. However, I goofed! I had the top border all sewn together, and I noticed I had flipped one of the HSTs so now I have to do some ripping out and re-sewing. What a mess! Very frustrated, but will keep going! I’m making exactly like you have made yours just like I did last year’s QAL with all your beautiful fabrics.
