Wrapping up one Quilt Along, Kicking Off Another

Heartfelt Charity Quilt Along

Our Heartfelt Charity Quilt along is drawing to a close (be sure to read to the bottom of the post for details on the Oh, Happy Day! sew along kicking off in just a few weeks).  The backing instructions for Heartfelt have been released today.

You’ll find the instructions for the quilt backing here.

The backing could just as easily be used for the front of a quilt!  Wouldn’t it be pretty in Cozy Up as a fall quilt!

Or even a favorite Bella Solid? (Etchings Slate would be so pretty!)

Red for Christmas would be wonderful!  It’s so simple to piece but such a pretty design. =)

I’ve really enjoyed sewing along with all of you!  My Heartfelt quilt will be auctioned off along with several others in the upcoming auctions hosted by Fat Quarter Shop.  If you’d like a chance to bid, the auction will be kicking off on September 15.  I’m sure FQS will be sharing more details about the quilts as we get closer.

If you haven’t already, be sure to pre-order your kit for next year’s charity sew along.  I had the fun of designing next year’s quilt as well using my Sunwashed line of fabric.  I am so happy with the way the design turned out.

This will be so much fun to sew next year!  You can preorder your kit here.

And…while we are talking about quilt alongs, I am excited to announce the official start date of the Oh, Happy Day! sampler sew along I am hosting here on my blog.

Now that the Buttercup & Slate precuts have started to ship to quilt shops this week, and yardage is on the way soon, I’m excited to let you know that the Oh, Happy Day! sampler sew along will be kicking off on Saturday, September 24.

I shared the fabric requirements as well as more info about the sampler sew along in this blog post.  You will need the fabrics listed (or another fabric line of your choice!) as well as a copy of Oh, Happy Day! to participate.  I have signed copies of Oh, Happy Day! in my Etsy shop.

I love the way the sampler turned out…the setting is so pretty & I think you will enjoy it as well!  So, grab your fat eighth bundle and get ready for a fun fall of sewing.  I’ll be sharing weekly YouTube videos on my channel to go along with each block and we’ll be finishing up before Christmas.  I hope you join in!

Happy Sewing & have a wonderful weekend! Corey

I’ve just started to follow you this year and I’m so amazed by all you do and all the information you have inside of you. Keep up the good work and also that creative mind of yours for all future quilting. Thanks again.

I got my fat quarter bundle in the mail yesterday. I’m so excited for the sew-along! It will be my 1st ever. I think you previously stated it would be intermediate-level, but I am hoping my general sewing experience will make up for my lack of quilting experience! Either way, I’m sure it will be a fun challenge for me! 😊

My FQB of Buttercup & Slate arrived in my mail yesterday. I’m just sitting here looking at each piece, and marveling at the lovely fabrics. Im trying to decide on my favorites and it’s hard to do. I’m really loving the small floral prints, the white on white print, the small Ohio Stars, the warm, soft yellows, greens and grays. It’s all so yummy. looking so forward to the Oh, Happy Days sew along. Great job on this collection, Corey 🥰

Hi Cory, I was wondering if your pattern Wooly wooly stars are in your new book Happy Day?

I am so excited to start this project. My fabric package greeted me as I opened the door this morning and the fabrics are beautiful!!! I am new to this quilt along process and am wondering if there’s any prep we need to be doing BEFORE kickoff on Saturday? Also, have you revealed which pattern from “Oh Happy Day” we are going to be using?

Hey Friends!--I'd love to hear from you. =)
